Ovimbundus are also called Umbundu. They are a dominant group in Angola, but their population is smaller in Namibia.
An Ovimbundu household includes a male head, his wives, and dependent children.
Men grow corn and beans, but they also hunt for wild game. Some are professional game hunters. Most Umbundu families have livestock, especially chickens.
They are a Christianized people, mostly Roman Catholic or Evangelical.
They need more hospitals and schools. When people rely solely on subsistence agriculture, they will always live on the margin.
Pray for the Lord to guide Umbundu leaders in improving their economy.
Pray for their physical and spiritual needs to be met.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring a mighty revival to Umbundu families and churches.
Pray that soon Umbundu disciples will make more disciples.
