Introduction / History

There are a significant number of Nepalis in the United Arab Emirates. The Nepalese community plays a central role in the multicultural population. Many of the Nepali people in the UAE live in Abu Dhabi.

What Are Their Lives Like?

About half of the Nepali in the UAE are engaged in construction work. Others are hospitality workers. No matter their occupation, they have a reputation for reliability.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Moravians first came to this area in the late 1800s. There is now a Moravian seminary in Mbeya where Ndali leaders have been trained. There is also some RC work in this area. There has been a lot of linguistic research done of this group recently.PRGRPHOver half of the Ndali are listed as Christians. The concept of "angels" has been used to speak to some Ndali people about God.

What Are Their Needs?

With a high level of education and an interest in spiritual matters, what is needed now is a full Bible translation and someone to spread the good news to those who still lack a relationship wit Jesus Christ.
