Futa Fulbe in Guinea
FOOL-bay
Fulbe children belong to age-sets that last until marriage, with each set including all children born within a three or four year period. Members of an age-set often attend school together, participate in community labor, and may assist one another with bride service duties. The Fulbe traditionally led a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, farming, hunting, and trading to sustain their communities. Although Fulbe villages are often scattered, each typically features a central court and a mosque.
Ministry Obstacles Efforts to evangelize these people have resulted in only a minimal number of Fulbe believers. They are very devoted to their Islamic religion and see it as a fulfillment of their needs.
Scripture Focus "For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried." Psalm 66:10
Scripture Prayer Pray for the Lord to test and purify today’s people group.
Prayer Focus Ask God to raise up prayer teams who will regularly break up the soil through worship and intercession.
Ask the Lord of the harvest to send full-time missionaries to share the gospel with the Fulbe.
Pray for the effectiveness of the JESUS Film among the Fulbe throughout Africa.
Pray that God would give the small number of Fulbe believers boldness to start a movement to Christ within their community.
Ask the Lord to bring forth a strong and growing church among the Fulbe.
Pray that God would open their eyes to understand that salvation based on works is insufficient.
Pray that God would soften their hearts to accept the teachings of Christ and seek Him as their savior.
