Amdang in Chad
The Amdangs raise grains, beans, sesame, and a variety of other crops; they also keep some livestock. A few Mimi are nomadic herdsmen. Mimi nomads live in mud homes with thatched roofs. Due to the water shortage in their homeland, the settled Amdangs are limited in the number of animals they can keep. Both the farmers and herdsmen of the Amdang are dependent on the rainfall. In drought years, both groups can face starvation, which goes for those who live in Chad as well as those who live in Sudan.
Ministry Obstacles Amdangs have been dependent on Islamic rituals for generations. It will be difficult for them to put their faith in anything or anyone else. With few biblical resources, they have few chances to fall in love with Jesus Christ.
Scripture Focus "And he said with a loud voice, Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water." Revelation 14:7
Scripture Prayer Pray for today’s people group to learn to fear God and give Him all the glory.
Prayer Focus Pray that Bible resources will be available in the Amdang language very soon.
Pray that the Lord will send believers who understand both their language and the spiritual mindset of these people.
Pray that leaders, husbands, and fathers will be saved and lead their families to the Lord Jesus, and that strong churches will be planted and reproduced quickly and soon.
