Vafsi in Iran
One advantage the Vafsi have over other small tribes in Iran is that they have 24 of their folktales recorded in their heart language. The Vafsi compose a minute percentage of Iran's total population. The origins of the Vafsi are unclear. Most now live in remote rural parts of Iran. In the mid-eleventh century, the Seljuk Turks conquered Iran under Togrul Beg. During the next four centuries, it was successively dominated by the Seljuks, the Mongols under Genghis Khan, Tamerlane and his Mongol hordes, and the Turkmen, resulting in a melting pot of ethnic groups, including the Vafsi.
Ministry Obstacles Islam is not challenged either by the Vafsi or other rural Iranian peoples. Few have heard the gospel, and as it stands, few have the chance to hear it in the near future.
