In 1799 the Kucong people experienced a major military defeat and began to collapse as a tribe. This defeat caused them to flee into the mountains, and from that point on they fragmented as a people and many died.
Kucong is a language of Vietnam, but most of the Kucong people live in China.
The Kucong have lived in dire poverty for generations. The Kucong have been hated and oppressed by all other Lahu peoples.
Most Hmong Njua adhere to their own ethnic religion. But in Suriname, they have the freedom to choose a different spiritual path. They have a complete Bible translation and many gospel materials that can lead them to the Throne of Grace.
Pray for spiritual discernment and a desire for truth among the Hmong Njua.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in Hmong Njua families, leading them to Christ.
Pray that soon Hmong Njua disciples will make more disciples.
Please pray for believers remaining from past mission efforts to bear new fruit.
Pray for the Kucong people to desire spiritual truth and find it in Jesus Christ.
Pray for a movement to Christ among the Kucong people in Vietnam.
Pray for improved living conditions for these oppressed people, in both China and Vietnam.
Pray for friendly relations with neighboring people, and for better employment and educational opportunities.
