Introduction / History

Naros are one of the Sans peoples.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Mothers teach their daughters how to cook and find food. Girls also learn how to make jewelry. Their duties include removing ash from fires. One must get permission from the leader to do anything.

Some remain hunters-gatherers, but most have switched to subsistence farming.

What Are Their Beliefs?

There is a Christian presence among the Naros, but most remain committed to their traditional religion. They believe in the power of ancestral and nature spirits.

What Are Their Needs?

Like other San people, the Naros are politically marginalized. They have little influence from the government, and they don’t influence the government either.

Prayer Points

Pray for the Lord to bring mercy and justice to the Naros as they transition from hunting and gathering to farming.
Pray for them to have the political clout they need to protect their interests.
Pray for them to embrace the teachings of the Bible and share them in stories and songs.
Pray that soon Naros will join the worldwide effort to take Christ to every nation.
